    3. Hi DBlair7596 Many thanks for the pointer to the West Galway Family History site, which in fact lists two Church Baptism Records for Edward Charles Howell in 1884 (and not as we believed 1885). And both Records are for my grandfather: * The first Record I presume is his birth registration on 12 May 1884 in the Parish/District of Army Galway C of I, and * The second is his Baptism the same day at St Nicholas' Church (C of I) On both Records the parents are Charles William and Agnes Howell, Edward's parents, and the address given is College Road. The really great surprise is Charles is down as a Sergeant with the 12th Regiment (of what as yet undetermined, but probably Artillery), as we understood him to have been a civilian Master Butcher working in Army Garrisons in which Agnes taught school. Oh the joys of genealogy - back to the drawing board on this one . . . Once again, many thanks for the pointer, and to the members of IRL-GALWAY too - bless you all. Kind regards, Pete [email protected] wrote: > Today's Topics: > > 1. Edward Charles HOWELL - Born Galway 1885 (Peter JW Howell) > 2. Re: 88th Connaught Rangers (Joy Dean) > 3.
