Good evening list, I just found this tidbit in a book "Dominicans in Galway". I believe I have visited the cemetery to which it refers. When there I was told that there were NO records. The following is an excerpt from the book: "The Claddagh Cemetery Book 1843-1881, the only one to survive in Galway's West Convent Archives (where is THIS?) is different...From Sept 1871 the cemetery book notes the names and age of the person who is being buried, and the cause of death." A copy of a page from the record is shown in the book as well and the ages are noted on this page from burials in 1849. Could someone tell me if this is the cemetery adjacent to St Mary's Church in the Claddagh...actually part of it is behind the OLD Claddagh school (Piscatory school)??? Would the Galway West Convent Archives now be the heritage center??? Thanks for any input, Nancy...Orlando ____________________________________________________ Yahoo! Sports Rekindle the Rivalries.
