    3. The Oxford Dictionary supports Searcaigh in describing glebe as "the portion of land going with a clergyman's benefice". However popular usage in Ireland seems to confine it to the Church of Ireland. Similarly, rectory would also be Church of Ireland, manse Presbyterian and parochial house (Roman) Catholic.
