Greetings from sunny Sydney (its the middle of winter but you'd never know) I am seeking info about a bloke called Bernard Rochford (Rochfort) who was charged with 'administering illegal oaths' and sent to Sydney for life, arriving in 1820. While in Oz he was a bit of a miscreant and I am doing some research on him. His mate was a guy called Patrick Eagan (Egan). They arrived in Sydney together, were partners in crime out here for a while and, as i can understand were also arrested together. Rochford was born in c.1760 in Loughrea and died in Sydney in 1839. Egan was born in c. 1787 in Ballinasloe and left Sydney in about 1835. Any info on their life in Eire would be appreciated. matt Murphy
