I have a record from a tombstone of John Finn who died and is buried in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky the inscription says John Finn born Aughrim County, Galway Ireland April 16, 1790. John died in Simpson County October 23, 1844. He married Frances Bigger in Virgnina, USA September 6, 1820. John is supposed to have come to Philadelphia in 1816 but I have found no record to prove that......... I thought this information on the Finn family might be helpful to someone. John was a Catholic in America........ There were no Finns listed in Griffiths for Aughrim. ........ Does anyone know of a "strays " page anywhere? Now and again I come upon people in the records who seem to be so completely out of place... I recently found an Edward Bell, an Inspector General of police in the West Indies, in Dunmore East in 1905. There are also several English and Scots who appear on the 1901 and 1911 on postings,connected with the fishing industry. Unless they have some inside information,anyone trying to locate these people as family members are going to be struggling. So if you do know of somewhere it would be worthwhile to post these names,could you let us know? Regards cathy
