Wow, thanks so much to everyone who provide the good info re. the surnames PAGE and GILL. I really appreciate that info. I know so very little about my relatives when they resided in Ireland. I think I have established that my g. g. grandfather Christopher Page m. Mary Catherine Roe in 1828 in Parish Clontuskert. I know they had at least three children, Joseph, Patrick and Elizabeth. The children's baptismal records indicate the family lived in Parish Clontuskert in Co Galway East, possibly on the Kelly Grove Estates before that land went into bankruptcy. I assume the potato famine caused them to come to the USA. My g. grandfather Joseph's military records list Prov. Connaught as his birthplace. Patrick's military records just say Galway, Ireland. Christopher, Mary, Patrick and Joseph are listed on the 1860 Lincoln County, Missouri USA census. Joseph, in 1860, is living apart from his family. Christopher died in Lincoln County in 1877. No additional info abt. Mary. No idea what happened to Elizabeth. Patrick served in the Civil War, on the Confederate side, and was killed in 1864 in Georgia. My g. grandfather Joseph served in that war on the Union side. I have a lot of info about Joseph once he came to Lincoln Co., MO. Very little info prior to that time. His military records say he came to the USA abt 1848 and to Lincoln County, Missouri in 1858. Don't know where he was for the 10 years between 1848 and 1858. Possibly in New York. My grandfather told me, Joseph came to the USA as a stowaway on a ship. I haven't found any info to prove or disprove that story. Don't know when his parents and bro. came to the USA. Don't have any info about earlier relatives of this family. My cousin's DNA test indicate this Page family is part of a bloodline that came from England and on into New Jersey. I don't have enough info to make any connect to the New Jersey families. I have read abt. Hugo Page in England in 1257. Would love to see that Page family chart. Any additional info anyone can provide about my Page bloodline would be greatly appreciated. If you wish, you can send info to hockmans@fidnet.com. Again, thanks so much to each of your for replying to my question.
