Hi David I was wondering where it was possible to view the census for Galway. These are not available through the LDS. All I have for my family so far is on the 1901 census where Charles Phair states he is from Galway and is aged 52. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be most appreciated. Hi, Basically no, 95% of the Irish Census' from the first 1821, 1831, 1841, 1851, 1861 1871 1881 1891 were destroyed (that's a another subject some say the Irish destroyed them others blame the English). Parts of the 1821 Cavan and 1821 part of Galway survived , 1841 Killeshandra Cavan survived and parts of the 1851 county Cork survived. I have a copies the 1841 Galway and 1851 Cork. Any other surviving census parts lets us know. Thanks, Dave Blair, Pembroke MA (descendant from the Cannon family of Galway and Blair's of Cavan) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-GALWAY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
