Below is the reply from familysearch.org about the problems I have been experiencing on the Civil Registration Indexes database.(Record Search Pilot) At the moment, when entering Galway as the location, only results from 2 of the 12 County PLUs are being returned. Similarly, only 2 of the Kilkenny PLUs. I haven't checked out all the counties. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon. I get the impression that they intend incorporating the Indexes into other databases, rather than have them stand alone as they are at the moment. I notice, for example, that MARRIAGE is now listed as RESIDENCE. Cathy ......................................................... >From familysearch.org: Our recent work to reload collections has a longer term goal and some transitional work to facilitate improved search in a different search arrangement will be developed. Later this year we will be changing the familysearch.org site and the collection will be available in the Historical Records tab of the new site. The search engine features which are about to enter beta testing will offer an improved search capability in this and other collections worldwide. In order to achieve this we are working on some technical search alterations. At present our engineers are working on the search engine and the place fil ter may not yield results for registration district and county filters. We have been able to locate most individual searches by name, year range and event type since this work began. We thank you for your patience whilst this engineering work is undertaken.
