Hi folks I am new to the list and wondering if anyone can help me. After years of searching (with not much luck) for the family of GEORGE WILLIAM PHAIR born c1853 and dying in Sligo in 1894 I came across the following information. CHARLES PHAIR, a brother, is mentioned in newspaper announcements for family deaths. On the 1901 census CHARLES gives his place of birth as Glasgow. Via rootsireland.ie I found a baptism for a CHARLES PHARE on 29 Aug 1847 in Tuam to a GEORGE and MARY PHARE. This date coincides with the age of Charles on the census. A further marriage record shows GEORGE PHAIR marrying MARY KIRWAN in Tuan on 29 Nov 1836 with witnesses John D Copley and Charles Jackson. Otherwise the record is pretty devoid of information.
