    2. Sheila, you can view the civil indexes on the familysearch.org pilot search. Just type in the name and county of the person you're looking for, then narrow it down by collection, event, and date if necessary. With the volume and page numbers provided on the site, you can get a photocopy of the death registration from the GRO (groireland.ie) for only 4 euros. If you still have some contacts in that area, you might ask them where the old graveyard would be, as they probably visit their ancestors' graves. Most graveyards, but not all, are in Mitchell's. You might ask at the church, too (Clonfad Church, Oldtown, Athlone, Co. Roscommon). The old one most likely nearby. Of course, if they were very close to the Galway border, it's possible they were buried there, too. I had relatives who lived in Clare but were buried a mile or two away in Galway. Diane
