    3. There's a John Glynn listed in Galway Births at the Ireland Gen. Projects site. I had transcribed some images that a friend of mine in Galway sent me some time ago. The date of birth is much later than the years you mention, but the family could be related. John Glynn, born 1869 to Thomas Glynn and Honor Greaney in Annaghdown RC, townland of Ballysale. You can see the spreadsheet info at: http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ Click on Galway and then Vital Records. If you'd like a copy of the image I can send it to you off-List. The writing is very poor and it was difficult to transcribe. I also have the Griffith's map for that area. 2. The Griffith's index shows the following Glynns in Annaghdown: Glinn Michael Kilgill Glynn John Biggerabeg One or both may be related to your Patrick. Also several Browns. Did you look for baptisms of their children, or did they leave Ireland shortly after marrying? Diane

    3. Hi Diane I will have to have a look at that :-) Charles on the census is married to an Esther! Thanks for the tip. For example, a search for Charles Phair in Ireland shows one the father of George Phair born in Cavan in 1874, then George again in Sligo in 1880, same mother--Esther Hoss/Hogg. Could be the Charles born to George and Mary in 1847. Diane

    3. Hi folks I am new to the list and wondering if anyone can help me. After years of searching (with not much luck) for the family of GEORGE WILLIAM PHAIR born c1853 and dying in Sligo in 1894 I came across the following information. CHARLES PHAIR, a brother, is mentioned in newspaper announcements for family deaths. On the 1901 census CHARLES gives his place of birth as Glasgow. Via rootsireland.ie I found a baptism for a CHARLES PHARE on 29 Aug 1847 in Tuam to a GEORGE and MARY PHARE. This date coincides with the age of Charles on the census. A further marriage record shows GEORGE PHAIR marrying MARY KIRWAN in Tuan on 29 Nov 1836 with witnesses John D Copley and Charles Jackson. Otherwise the record is pretty devoid of information. I would love to hear from anyone who knows of this family. Sharon (Sydney Australia)

Move your mouse over them and when you put it over Ireland, the counties I have on my website will be listed under Ireland. Find Galway and click on it and your click will take you to the County Galway page. Scroll down till you find the list of tithes. I usually update the NEW and UPDATED pages the day after I update the site. So, this morning I will be adding the new tithes to the NEW page.
