I'm not sure of the parish Patrick Scully born to Patrick and Bridget(maiden name unknown) about 1832. Mary Mahony born to John and Mary(Clarke) Mahony about 1836. Patrick and Mary came to the US in 1855. Ended up settling in Dedham, MA. ____________________________________________________ Yahoo! Sports Rekindle the Rivalries. Portumna Not sure of Parish, but think this is a great idea of your's Jane. Looking for Maria Clarke, possibly born Portumna, circa 1824 (or any other Maria Clarke born County Galway between 1817 and 1825). Maria's parents were probably John and Eliza Clarke. She was a free emigrant to New South Wales around 1850, sponsored by a Richard Clarke (a relative ??). She subsequently married William Ruffles, but after he died a few years later she had a family with my gt gt grandfather, convict James Saisell (Saysell). I haven't found anything more on Maria, as yet, nor on her parents or Richard Clarke. Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Which Civil parish in Galway is of the most interest to the greatest number of subscribers to this mail list? Just a parish name - that's all I need, no surnames, no bits of family history......... Well, you could call this a roll call - in which case - put the name of the civil parish first on the subject line, then the surname or surnames that you are interested in. In the body of the mail, put the parish name on the first line - that's all I'm going to look at for the moment. Below that, write what you know about your ancestor who left that parish - then, people interestd in that surname will be able to read what you have to say Please and thanks. Jane

CURLEY Hugh Curley b. 1794 m. Bridget (Unknown maiden name) b. 1802 Supposed to be from the Taum area. They came to Canada around 1832-1850, believe it was closer to 1832. Their son Thomas m. Susanna Everson and eventually they moved to Michigan in the U.S. Thomas and Hugh were stone masons. My last evidence of Hugh and Bridget was 1851 they were living with Thomas and Susanna in Ontario, Canada. Still trying to find out where and when Hugh and Bridget died and where they are burried. Milltown, Co. Galway the main surname is Donnelly. I do have some info on the family line there, but no clue as to the parish name or what.. I do know my Grandma turned out "very catholic", at least that is what my father always said about her. Her name was Honora Donnelly. Let me know what else you need & I can probably fill it in. I do also know I have alot of priests' & nuns' in that family line as well. Thanks in advance, Maureen McConnell Clueless in NW FL -----Original Message----- From: Jane Lyons PhD.
