    3. That is very interesting. Thanks! We have learned something new - at least I have. Christina Anne C Fullam Goeke wrote: > I've come across many records from the early Middle Ages in Dublin that > were in French and English.Sept is seven in French.

    2. Christina, While Sept means seven in French, it is tthe ninth month. Octo means eight (I believe in Latin), and October is the tenth month. Dec is ten (again Latin?), December is the twelfth month. Who said our ancestors could count? LOL. I know it had something to do with July and A ugust being a tribute to the Ceasars that go by those names, but it is still out of whack. 3. I googled 7ber and found this on an old Belgium list posting: - 7ber = September means 7th month, but is actually the 9th - 8ber = October means 8th month, but is actually the 10th - 9ber = November means 9th month, but is actually the 11th - 10ber = December means 10th month, but is actually the 12th http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/BELGIUM-ROOTS/1999-02/0918652852 Well, who knows, it may come up again sometime.
