Not to be a Pollyanna, but my guess is that with the outpouring of unhappiness and people refusing to buy records, RootsIreland will back off this dumb move in time. They have to be somewhat responsive to public opinion to be in business. One of the list members on the Limerick list posted a very good set of instructions on how to get the most out of the search options on RootsIreland -- without paying. I thought this was very good.
