Thank you, Cara! Don't think it's my family tho. My GGF Thomas came to Dublin at age 20 to be enlisted as a Dublin Metropolitan policeman. I think the rest of his family remained in WestMeath. They were RC. When he was discharged he became a dairyman and lived on Bishop st.. Was married at sometime after discharge, c1861-2 and the births of their children began. I would like to learn what the job of a dairyman consisted of and also WHICH dairy. Now that's a BIG order for the year of 1860. I have found some L'estranges living at Dublin Castle in the 1800s. They were probably governmental aristrocrats residing in the apartments there and most likely protestant. Other L'estranges in the Dublin area are at the Fire Brigade and another line I refer to as the meatcutter L'estranges. But I really appreciate your being on the 'lookout' on my behalf. :) Janice in cold and frosty Boston In a message dated 2/8/2007 4:05:40 A.M. By 1858 the L'Estrange business had been taken over by William Graham, who manufactured farm machinery, etc. Just a snip may be the family Cheers Cara ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
