Thomas Moore's marriage certificate should say who his father was, and should give you Thomas's address at the time he was married. If he never moved house in his life up till that time, then that was his parental home. This cert will also give you the bride's father name and may tell you the occupations of both the fathers and whether or not they were deceased at the time their children were married. Do you have the marriage cert? Your nearest branch of the LDS (Latter Day Saints, ie Mormon) Church probably has a family history centre attached to it. They can order in for you, for a small fee, the microfilm of the index to the register of births in Ireland for 1888. You can have it on loan at their centre for about a month. You can peruse the film and note any Thomas Moores born that year to try to locate your grandfather. This register will give you only scant detail but from there, you'll at least have a reference number and can ask the volunteers there for help on the next leg of your quest. >From my experiences of Irish cemeteries it's only the largest ones who keep an office on site with details of who is buried there and what plot they're buried in. Most cemeteries are unattended. Good luck! Debby Raymond, Queensland, Australia
