Hello Patsy, I am also a descendant of a Kelly from Dublin and also am very limited on the amount of information I have about this line in my family. My great-grandmother was Julia Kelly Dunne who lived in the outskirts of Dublin in Lower Palmerstown and later in Inchicore. I have found some information that Julia's parents were likely to be Dennis Kelly and Mary Reddy, who were married in 1852 in Palmerstown. I have also found a Denis Kelly baptised in the Roman Catholic Church in Palmerstown in 1828, which could make him a possible sibling of your John Kelly (though there were probably many Kellys in Dublin at that time). I have found the Baptism, Marriage, and Burial databases available on the website http://www.dublinheritage.ie/ to be helpful in obtaining possible leads. I checked just now and did find a John Kelly baptised in 1826 in the Palmerstown Catholic Church. I limited my search to the Palmerstown church, but you don't have to. Also, you can request more information about these records from the Dublin library through this site. Let me know if you have any problems finding the above referenced record. Good luck in your search. Maybe we are long lost cousins! I would love to hear if you are successful in your Dublin search. Nancy Dunne Connecticut, USA PS I have modern day cousins on another side of my family living in Adelaide. It's a small world. One other thing, I searched just the last name Kelly as the spellings and abbreviations of first names on this site will restrict your search. For example, the John I found in Palmerstown was listed as "Jno [john]" and will not come up if you search for "John". Again, good luck.
