    1. [DUBLIN-CITY] Saggart Headstones New to IGP Archives
    2. Joyce
    3. We have added 70 headstone photos and text to the Archives. This is the link to the Dublin Headstone page - http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/dublin/photos/tombstones/markers.htm You will find the new files at "saggart02.txt" and "Saggart Cemetery, County Dublin". These headstones are from the original cemetery and include a couple of rather old headstones. You will see that I found a great way to read old headstones - be up early on a very frosty morning, and get to the cemetery before the frost melts :). I will be adding to this file in the New Year, and when the light is right in the Spring will be back to take some of the old headstones at this cemetery. Best wishes to all on the List - Hope you have a very Happy Christmas. Joyce (Tunstead) http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/

Ooops, sorry, he attended Trinity in 1849, sorry about that Regards Rita -----Original Message----- From: Joyce Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2012 10:48 AM To: irl-dublin-city@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DUBLIN-CITY] Simon Maddock Saunders (two) Hello Rita I was reading yours and noted that the dates don't quite fit. You say Simon was born 1832 and in 1833 he was 17. Are we, therefore, right in saying he was born about 1816? I was also wondering if Trinity College might have any information on this Simon Saunders. 3. Dear All I have a problem in that I have two Simon Maddock Saunders in my family tree, they were first cousins. (1) Simon Maddock Saunders, born 1832 in Dublin, parents Brabazon and Catherine Saunders, Simon attended Trinity College aged 17 in 1833, it is noted that his father is Brabazon Saunders, in 1855 he is on the Freeman Rolls by claim of his father Brabazon Saunders. (2) Simon Maddock Saunders, born 1833, parents George and Jane Saunders, this Simon married Maria Kohler in 1853, emigrated to USA and on the 1880 census is living in New York City, have quite a lot of information on him. I have his marriage certificate which states his father as being George Saunders. What I don’t have is any more information on the 1st Simon Maddock Saunders, no marriage or death. I have tried all lists, when I type in the name Simon Maddock Saunders all I get is information on the 2nd Simon. Any information would be great appreciated. Regards Rita Robinson (South Africa)

    1. [DUBLIN-CITY] CMC list - relaunch
    2. Christina Finn Hunt
    3. I have (kind of) inherited the Rootsweb CMC list. This list was originally created to be an adjunct to the CMC project which was an online project for Christening, Marriage and Cemetery records. The project is no longer online and the records there appear to be lost. So the question is - what to do with the list? After thinking about it I felt it might be worth it to try and revitalize this list. We will call it CMC for Church, Memorial and Cemetery. I think Church covers marriages. Memorials can be and often are located in a church (like plaques), and Cemeteries covers well...Cemeteries. That covers the original topics. So, the list will be a place to ask about cemeteries and church records anywhere in Ireland. If you would like to join and ask questions or provide advice, the page with joining information is at: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/IRL/CMC.html If you need help joining...drop me a line OFF list. chrisnina@gmail.com *If you know someone who might like to join the *new improved* list, please send them the link for joining. 1. [DUBLIN-CITY] WALTER CAMPBELL & CAMPBELL FAMILY
    2. Fran
    3. I have a Walter CAMPBELL. He was born about 1805/06 in Ireland. He died on May 1, 1891 in Armagh City, Ireland. He formerly lived at 19 Molesworth St. Dublin, where his brother William CAMPBELL had a family hotel. Walter was buried in Mt. Jerome Cemetery, Dublin. I have the will of Walter Campbell, who was a bachelor and left his estate to his nieces and nephews as follows: Margaret Frances Wilmott, Fannie Charlotte M'Callum and Margaret Francis M'Callum (these are my direct line). Wm Polden Campbell, Helen Florence Campbell, Walter Campbell (these I have found also). I can get no leads on the other Campbell members mentioned in Walter Campbell's will. They are: Sarah Campbell, Hannah Campbell, Lizzie Campbell, Maggie Campbell, Thomas Campbell, Mary Campbell, Katie Campbell, Willie Campbell, Tennie Campbell, Fannie Campbell & Robbie Campbell as well as Matilda Walker of 335 West Biddle St. near Madison, Baltimore, USA. Walter CAMPBELL was buried in the family grave site in Mount Jerome Cemetery. His brother William CAMPBELL died July 28, 1900 in Dublin. I believe they were buried in the same family site as well as other Campbell relatives. I do not have the grave site number and have been hoping they will appear on the headstones for Mount Jerome. Any leads anyone can give me are much appreciated. Regards, Fran in Canada
