Almost spot on Deb, the only slight difference is that it is the Rootsweb server that decides, not me, based on the volume of posts as to when the digest goes out, if there are a lot of posts it can go several times a week whereas if there are few once a week will suffice. Good advise on your part, it is indeed easier to respond to individual mails if you are subscribed in 'list' mode, replying to individual posts in 'digest' mode only serves to clog up the system with redundant information. Different mailer programmes handle mail differently and some folk prefer to use the digest mode and this is fine also. I use Eudora for example and always have done so I am not so familiar with MS Outlook. On a different note - to all on the list - thanks to the member who alerted us to the books about Dublin life, mails like this are not considered 'advertising' and the more we can share this kind of information the better. Additionally as Debby has pointed out I am always here to help if I can, Keep up the interest in Dublin, we are going through interesting times here with the increased interest in the events of the early 1900s building up to the centenary in 2016 of the Easter Rising just recently been celebrated her in Dublin last weekend Regards Anthony J. 3. Before you rush off and hope that the film with your data on is complete at the LDS centers you need to realise that The Church of Latter Day Saints has an exstensive collection of Catholic parish registers on microfilm, made up partly of copies of some of the National Library Films ( Ire) and partly of material microfilmed by the Church itself. Of the 1,153 parishes in the Country ( Ireland) the LDS library has only records of 398 of these parishes. This information being given to me in 2006, at the NLI ireland. But that does not mean you should not do as Debby has suggested below **** > Microfilms of the Irish civil registrations of birth and death from > 1864 and marriage from 1845 can be ordered into, and are available to > be inspected at, the church of the Latter Day Saints (LDS) family > history centres. 2. E Macklin
    3. Good morning Valerie: [ If you require any more information please contact me directly at [email protected]] Ah yes I remember Mt Jerome Cemtery very well. This cemetery is also the repository of the St Thomas Anglican Cemetery and Church in northern Dublin which were ordered removed by the City of Dublin to make way for a public housing project. The headstones, monuments and mausloeums were used for landfill and the bodies which were removed were bagged and placed in an old mausoleum at Mt Jerome for burial later. I was surprised to see that you have access to the records from the City which were only available if you visited the City records department directly. If you have access to this index would you please let me know if Thomas Macklin and his wife who were buried there [St Thomas Cemtery - moved to Mt Jerome] along with the rest of his family. To what extent do you have access to the Civil Registrations and would it include the Civil Death Records from 1863 forward. All the best to our friends in Australia Eric Macklin Canada

    2. Having told you all about the Dublin Slums book I have just received a book I ordered called Dublin Tenement Life - An oral history by Kevin C Kearns ISBN 071740741. (No I am not on a commission but researching your fqamily is not just about finding their names it is about their lives) I have found a testimoney from someone who lived on the same street as my g grandparents and another on the street where my g grandmother was born. If (like mine) your Dublin ancestors where from the tenements you will find this book great. There are maps and photographs (one is of a street just off Marrowbone Lane in which I was interested). There are reports for example from names like Murray, Kirwan, Caulfield (She is from Newfoundland Street where my g grandparents lived) Hawkins, Campbell, Waldron, Dunleavy, Cassidy, Murphy, Cullen, Mooney, Byrne just to name but a few. ___________________________________________________________ Tiscali Broadband only £9.99 a month for your first 3 months! http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/
