    2. SHELAGH O'NEILL
    3. Looking for any family of O'Neills who lived in Vavasour Square Dublin early 1900's. A Joseph O'Neill of 54 Queen Street who married an Annie Lennon November 1875 ?? where ?? whose address we believe was Blackrock lived at no 4 in 1905-1910. In 1909 my grandparents and family appear next door at no.3. 1910 Mrs Annie O'Neill is at no.4 - We think Joseph died August 1908. 1911 no 3 is vacant my grandparents came to England. By 1915 there were no O'Neills in Vavasour Square. Mrs Annie O'Neill had moved to Bath Avenue and later to Tritonville Avenue. Trying to establish whether these two families are related. Any ideas please? Thanks. Shelagh UK No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.5.485 / Virus Database: 269.13.3/986 - Release Date: 03/09/07 09:31

However, I have been researching my family in Ireland for years and have purchased many books on Irish research I plan to review for my talk. The genealogy conference was decided upon as a project for Make a Difference Day when various groups in America do community service. I'm assuming that mostly beginners will come to the class or people who have not had success in Irish research and are looking for ideas. The class is at an LDS church which is located about a half hour drive from my home. They have a Family History Library there. I've put many of their Irish films on permanent loan so others can use them so they know of my interest in Irish research. The class will run about 45 minutes with about 30 minutes of information on available resources and 15 minutes for questions. I have no idea how many people will sign up for the class or their ages. Actually...I have been out of town baby-sitting my grand daughter all of Aug. and when I got home they asked me to teach the class because I've done so much Irish research. When I asked this group for ideas for the internet I thought I'd just give out a sheet [if the people attending my Irish class wanted it] listing sites on the internet to do research in Ireland. The conference will be advertised in the paper etc. and all are invited at no charge for the seminar which will have many other classes during the day such as searching the census, military records, using the internet, writing your family's history, beginning genealogy research, etc, etc. In 30 minutes you can see it will just be a general overview of Irish research. The people who attend will receive a free booklet with an outline of research for each class taught. As I mentioned, my sheet on the internet will only be handed out to the people who attend my class. I will not be putting it in the class outlines handed out to everyone. I do not mind you asking, Cara. I probably should have explained a little more about it, but as I say, they just asked me to do the class and I just received an email explaining it will be about 45 minutes...etc. The conference is being done as a service to the communities in the area to interest people in genealogy. I'm sure there will be many other projects around the various towns in my area on Make a Difference Day. I remember last year someone painted and cleaned the gardens around the local history museum in my town and another year one group painted the library. Lots of groups do various projects on that day. Well...must run. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you, Cara, with any suggestions you have for good sites on the internet. 3. Cara, I've had no training in teaching about Ireland, but I have worked at a genealogy library since 1978, though have only been a substitute in recent years since my cancer. I've found a few myself, but thought there might be some that I don't know about. I've found some by faithfully reading the rootsweb emails I get from this group. I can hardly wait for the 1901 and 1911 census records to be on line. I've read many of them, but still can't find a few people I need. I'm very stuck on my great grandfather. Can't find his marriage or death or cemetery records, though the rest of the family is buried at St. George's, Dublin, and Mt. Jerome. Take care, Flo

    2. Rita Robinson
    3. I am still having difficulty in trying to trace my 5th G. Grandmother, all the records for that time have been destroyed, and the only way that I can think of to trace her is to find her tombstone inscription. I only have her married surname which is HENSHALL, she must have died sometime between the birth of her daughter which was in 1760 and 1774, when her husband remarried. Now what I want to know is, would there have been that many cemeteries in Dublin at that time. I do know that her husband James HENSHALL, was a prominent member of the Anglican church, and was a Linen merchant, living in Linenhall St at one time and also in the Finglas area. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know that I am lucky to have got back so far with my tree, but would love to know the name of this 5th G. Grandmother. Kind regards Rita Durban, South Africa.
