    1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Estimating death date from index volume number
    2. Hello list, As we say over here, I'm working in the weeds these days. That is, I'm searching for every crumb I can find (to mix my metaphors). These entries came from familysearch.org, "Ireland, Civil Registration Indexes, 1845-1958": Gardiner Curtis, patriarch: Death registered 1874, age 58, North Dublin Reg. Dist.; Vol. 12, Pg. 362 Gardiner Curtis, patriarch's son: Death registered 1874, age 28, North Dublin Reg. Dist.; Vol. 7, Pg. 452 Note that both deaths were registered in 1874. What do the index volume numbers signify? Does a volume number signify a specific month of the year? If not that, would a death entered in volume 7 have definitely occurred before a death entered in volume 12? Help me get out of these weeds, if you can. PJ, in Texas
