In 1837 he was assigned to John Street at Bathurst NSW. He was issued a Ticket of Leave on 11 May 1842, and allowed to remain in the District of Bathurst on recommendation of the Bench. He was granted a Ticket of Leave Passport on 31 Aug; 1842 that allowed him to proceed beyond the boundaries of Wellington in the service of John Street for a period of twelve months.
