October 1841 1-Oct 7-1841;- At Rockingham castle, aged 56, the Rt. Hon Frances Viscountess Lorton . She was the only daughter and heiress of Laurence first Earle of Ross by Lady Jane King ( aunt to Viscoutn Lorton0 and eldest daughter of Edward 1st Earl of Kingston. She was married in 1799, and had several children. Her charities were very extensive, and she was particularly zealous in the support of schools. 2-Oct 6 1841:- at Bessborough Co Kilkenny aged 21, the Hon Arthru George Ponsonby, third son of Lord Duncannon. 3-Oct 11 1841:- Hugh Kidd Esq, of Newry. On attempting to alight from a carriage on the Ulster railway before the train stopped he fell on the road, and the carriages passed over one of his legs, which they shattered in a shocking manner. He was conveyed to the house of his friend, the Rev, Dr. Montgomery, and died immediately afterwards. 4-Oct 31st 1841:- At Dublin, mr. Brittan - druggist. He had for some time past been engaged in writing a work on chemistry; and a short tiem since he made an experiment on himself in order to ascertan the extent to which hydrogen gas may be inhaled without danger to animal life. He fell victim to the experiment; the poison mingled with his blood.debility, mental and bodily, succeeded and caused his death. 5-Lately:- 1-at Ballyhorgan or Ballyborgan Kerry, aged 90 Wm.R. Hilliard, esq, the oldest magistrate of the county. 6-George Gifford, esq, Ballysopp Co.Wexford. He fell and died instantaneously while looking at a pack of hounds drawing a cover, in the neighbourhood of his residence. 7-Aged 79, Mr. Roger O'Donnell of Ballinamore son of the late Hughragh O'Donnell esq., of Glashagmore 8-At Cork, aged 84, Mr John Hogan father of the distinguished sculptor.
