Hi List, Sorry, I was only subscribed to the Digest list, so these all came together this morning. I've now subscribed to the "L" list, so hopefully these won't get grouped up together again. Dan ---------- Re: GITTENS Hi Charles, Sorry, but I found 'no' GITTENS or GETTENS anywhere. Is there another spelling variation for this name? I'm looking for a Daniel GITTINS who was recorded as a chemist in 1841. At that time he was visiting John and Isabella GITTINS, who I believe were his parents living in North Wales. However, Daniel was from Ireland and the only known link I have is that his possible brother, John junior, was born in Dublin. Daniel may be mentioned in directory. Do you know of anything on chemists in Dublin? Best wishes, Charles ------------------------------ Re: ROWLAND, Hi Carol, No William ROWLAND as a tailor, however in 1838, under "Attorneys" there is one William ROWLAND who is listed as a "sol." The spellings found on various certificates and Poor law records shows his surname variations as Geygan, Gaggen, Gaygan Geggan and Gagan I suppose it could be worse? At least he kept the first letter.. Jo ------------------------------ Re: SKELLERN / SKELLEREN...
