Hi All, Regarding Tailors from Dublin... I don't know if these will help, but there seems to be a lot of interest in Dublin tailors, so here are links to a couple of pages from the Pettigrew & Oulton's 1838 Dublin Directory and for the Thom's 1873 Dublin Directory. Both are under the "Trades" sections...and these are the listings for Tailors. http://homepage.fcgnetworks.net/dkng/Dublin-Tailors-1838.gif http://homepage.fcgnetworks.net/dkng/Dublin-Tailors-1873.gif If you have trouble viewing these, please feel free to email me directly and I'll try emailing you the files. Hi Dan, I hope you are not inundated with queries, but I tried this link to see if I could get to Antrim - no success!! My STEVENSON family was in Ballymena, and environs, do you have a link for tailors in this area? This may help with tailors, and other look-ups, the Dublin City Directory of 1850. http://www.libraryireland.com/DublinDirectory1850/a.php Wendy
Many thanks for posting this Info Dan, although there are none of my BURKE ancestors listed in 1838. WILLIAM BURKE is listed as decesased in 1854 on his son Edward's marriage certificate, so its only your earlier list I'm interested in at this point.
