Hi Listers I have the following from military records and I'm anxious to find out more about Mary Murray William Fowler, a soldier serving with the 21st Lancers in Dublin married Mary Murray 22nd July 1901. The officiating minister or Registrar was J Hazelthwaite and there were two witnesses I and M Maguire. Mary had two children in Dublin before accompanying William back to England in 1904. They had a long and happy marriage with four more children but the remaining grandchildren have no knowledge of where Mary came from. I am hoping someone on this list may be able to advise me or (and stranger things happen all the time) someone will leap forward and claim her as a long lost great aunt. Wish you all well Ted Fowler Australia
Hello Ted, I guess you could start by obtaining the marriage certificate from Ireland. This should tell you the name of Mary's father and his occupation. It will also state where she was living at the time of her marriage and her occupation. It may also state her exact age. You are lucky, the 1901 Census will be online in the near future and you may find her living with her family. Your nearest LDS FHLibrary should be able to help you search the Irish Civil Registration Index films for the marriage. If you let me know where you live in Australia, I may be able to help.
