I am searching for my friend who is going to visit Newtownards, County Down, Ireland in May 2007. He ancestors live/lived there. The first one to emigrate to Nova Scotia, Canada was John Moore born 1788 first wife Jane Montgomery and second wife Sopia Angus. Both marriages took place in Newtownards. Jane gave birth to Alexander born 1812 (my friends line) and James born 1815. Jane died and John Moore married Sophie Angus. John and Sophie emigrated in 1818 to Nova Scotia and had several more children there. I am interested John Moore's parents who are suppose to be John Moore and Mary (Molly) Doudle, I have not proven that and wish to get documentation to prove it. Also, John Moore and Mary where suppose to have the following children besides John Moore born 1788. The children are William who went to England & died there, Nancy, Mary, Jane and Samuel who I believe emigrated to Nova Scotia too. Anyone with information on these people please contact me or if some kind soul can provide me with some proof of the parents and John's siblings I would really appreciate it. I only have until mid February as I am going away myself. Thanks so much and hope to hear from you! Carol Brown Parker PS my dad's side "Brown" is supposed to be from Dublin, I have tracked these Brown's to John E Brown born Nov 1822 New York State but he was supposed to be from Ireland according to his oldest son Aaron Charles Brown. Thought I would throw this in you never know who reads our postings!
