    3. hi everyone Does anyone know how I could find out what the life expectancy for a female born in co. Kilkenny in 1845. I am interested to know how long she might have lived if she lived in Ireland all her life. Obviously from a poor family. After being born in the year of the famine she emigrated to the Cape Colony as a servant aged 15. She married and had 2 children and the family then emigrated to NZ arriving towards the end of the Maori Wars. Had 2 more children one of whom died. Separated from husband and took to the drink. children taken and put in an orphanage. Took up with another man had 2 children - they were put into an Industrial School. She was in and out of gaol for being drunk and disorderly and died aged 61 in NZ. Shirley
