Cara: You bet they will not allow you to look at the records. Some are so old that it is barely possible to look at them at all. I have been trying to get a baptismal certificate fro St. Patrick's CI for almost 5 years. Mr. Gracey is just not cooperating. He also wants 25lbs. for the certificate. When I was last in Ireland it was during the Orangeman gathering and St. Patrick's was closed for tourist. Was unable to even get in much less ask any questions. I have relatives buried at Belfast City Cemetery-this cemetery is also very cooperative. I not only found g grandfather Holland I also found buried in the plot next to him 3 of his daughters and his mother. The cemetery was gracious to send me both plots and who was buried there. With these two plots, dates a d dates it validated information I already had and then I was able to secure birth certificates for each of them. Grand parents had two sons that died before the age of two and they are there also-thus linking grandfather to Joseph Holland without a doubt. Other researchers have found family for me in DunDonald cemetery and all have been so gracious. Have found both paid and unpaid to be so gracious and kind with their sharing. Mr. Massey at Mt Jerome had put in the 1st letter that Joseph Anderson Holland was buried in a common grave. Wrote back and asked what this meant-he replied a pauper's grave and also unmarked. This is not what we always like to hear, however, facts are as they are. I am so grateful as it pushed me further down the path of finding others. Having been at this since 1977 trust is a vital link to finding what we are looking for. If it does not work out-just begin again. Thanks for the kind words I really appreciate them.
