Bill: You need to use the number keys to the right for the numbers, not the number keys on top. -- Kindest Regards Jim White Naples, Florida -------------- Original message -------------- From: "jj.carroll" <jj.carroll@comcast.net> > But even though I have Microsoft Word XP, office edition, I cannot use the > Alt 0163 to get a £ sign, and for like the "Euro" I use the Character Map to > get a ? sign. > > Bit, having said that, as with the dollar sign, it goes before the number, > like ?300, or £250, not the other way round. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Shirley Holland" > To: > Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 5:28 PM > Subject: Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] Pound Sign, and how you can get it on the > computer... > > > I have 100£ the alt 0163 works this is proof I use Microsoft and windows XP > > 200£ 1095£ 258£ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "jj.carroll" > To: > Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 6:07 PM > Subject: Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] Pound Sign, and how you can get it on the > computer... > > > Bill, thank you. Ah ha, the only thing wrong with the message is that it did not include the "NumLock" button. I tried it with the numbers on the right, and nothing happened. I used the Alt buttons, both of them, and then tried the 0163. Still Nothing happened. Then I remembered something about the NumLock (but nothing on the right hand keys) and thought, Maybe that is what is missing. So, hit the "NumLock," number in the code from the Character Map, and you have it.
