May I ask readers for their experiences of finding obituaries and/or death or funeral notices in Dublin newspapers? I have two time frames. The first is 1850 - 1889. The later one is 1934 and 1955. Many thanks. Bill.
If a person died in say 1870 circa in the Newbridge, Milltown, Kildare area would it likely make the Dublin newspaper? I was in Dublin in July and found the announcement of my Great Grandfathers death and a report on the funeral in Dublin in December 1898 in "The Freeman's Journal & National Press". This was on a microfilm in the National Library in Dublin. Hope that helps in some way.
