    3. I am new to the list and I wonder if anyone has access to the 1851 census and an 1851 Directory. I am looking for James Conroy and his family. Wife = Betty Hoctor (Mary Elizabeth) Daughter = Sarah He may have a son a couple of years older than the daughter. I am also looking for the name Hoctor/Hocter. Penny (Charlotte NC USA)

    3. Penny My understanding is that all the Irish Censuses up to and including 1891 were pretty well totally destroyed during the troubles. I think only fragments of the 1841 & 1851 censuses survived.
