Hi Hal, You are looking for the parish of CLONTARF on the north side of Dublin. The two Churches are on the South side of Dublin. The family may have been from the Southside of Dublin and were living on the Northside. It would not be uncommon for familys to return to their roots. I would suggest the male of the family lived on the Southside of Dublin. Is the South side all below the River Liffey and the north side above the River? I looked at an 1810 map of Dublin and the two churches were on the map and they were both north of the River Liffey at that time. When I googled the two churches and got an address it looks to me like the two churches are north of the river. How are you divining the city into North and South? Are you using the River Liffey or something else? I have been back searching for more information and I found on the LDS site that census of 1901 was at the Civil Parish of Clonturk. Note I am using a different spelling than you are using as I suppose these are two different places or areas. Could the spelling have been changed after 1901? Speaking of the South Side, I did find a lot of Connor/O'Connor/Conner living SE of Dublin City Center in various communities near the coast. The majority of them living at Monkstown. I have no idea if my man at Clonturk is related to those in the SE of Dublin. ----- Original Message ----- From: <catherine10@eircom.net> To: <irl-dublin@rootsweb.com>; <IRL-DUBLIN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 1:56 PM Subject: Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] CLONTURK > > > Hi Hal, > > You are looking for the parish of CLONTARF on the north side of Dublin. The > two Churches are on the South side of Dublin. > > The family may have been from the Southside of Dublin and were living on > the Northside. LINK: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=IE&addtohistory=&city=Dublin Is this considered to be the south side of Dublin. YOu can clearly see the river Liffey on the bottom on the page. St.Michan's is before you get to Mary's Lane along Church Street and St. Mary's is nearby.
