Inisfry was a make-up name of a village that really was part of the movie shot around Cong (Lough Corrib) and central Connaught, near the town of Galway. That would be the central western part of Ireland. As in all movies it used a lot of locales that were to make the picture appear to be of a place of great solitude, and lively grace.
