I had suspected that he might have lived upstairs from his place of business, and I will keep to that assumption. Valerie, I would love to follow your wonderfully sound advice about more thoroughly searching the city directories, but unfortunately it looks as though the online source only allows one to search by name, and I can only find the 1850 online. Thanks for the great tip though; I will try to find a way to follow through on it. I didn't realize so much information was available in the directories. And a BTW, I googled 65 Thomas St. in Dublin, and that address is now graced by a pub called O'Neill's. If I ever get to Dublin again, I'll be sure to visit it, and have a pint of cider. I just hope the street names and numbers haven't been changed since 1850, but even if they have, I'd go there anyway ;) I think that about covers it. Thanks for your responses. -Pat.
