    2. Linda, While researching for my mysterious gggrandfather, Samuel Rawlins b. circa 1844 in Ireland to English parents (according to the 1880 US census), letters were found at the Natl. Archives from an earlier Samuel Rawlings, living in Dublin, who had married a Maria LESLIE from Cork. This Samuel Rawlings hailed from Somerset and was not 21 in 1797. He had a child and one on the way. Of course, I would love to make a connection to my Samuel .....(who knows what happened to the earlier children), but I am also wondering if there is anymore information to be found on this Leslie family from CORK? Any help would be most appreciated! Bev W ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    3. Hi Bev, My Leslie family were originally from Moy, Clonfeacle parish, Co. Tyrone. My great grandfather, Benjamin Leslie (c.1832-1914), came to Dublin where he married Anna Ravell (1838-1910) in 1864. Their children were all born in Dublin, and as far as I know there is no family connection to Cork. Irish research is certainly not easy.
