    3. Many thanks to Valerie and Shirley for their helpful advice. I found the films in FamilySearch. (By the way, they are under Ireland, Dublin, Dublin, rather than Ireland, Dublin!) There are about 30 films covering about 120 years. Some earlier films overlap. I have recently spent a fortune and strained eyes on FHL films so I may try Shirley's suggestion first.     3. Shaw's Dublin City Directory 1850 lists the following: Halpin, George, 33 LOWER DORSET STREET (civil engineer) Halpin, George Senior, LIGHTHOUSE, NORTH WALL.
