Hi My wife's ancestor, George CAROLIN, from Dublin, married a Miss Sinclair, who we have anecdotal evidence was the aunt of George Robertson SINCLAIR, celebrated organist and friend of Elgar. I know the Sinclair family were based in Dublin, and that G R Sinclair's father was an LLD at Trinity College, before taking on a job with the education department in Bombay, though G R Sinclair was born in Croydon, on 28 Oct 1868, whilst his mother was living temporarily in London. The UK offices have no record of his birth though, so I was wondering if it was possible he may have been registered in Dublin later on. Either way, I cannot find any other information on his mother and father, not even names. I'd love to connect this branch of the SINCLAIR's with the CAROLINs, and extend the SINCLAIR line further - any suggestions? Regards, Rob Park.
