A question about this was asked on the Dublin list so here is my answer about where the registers are housed to all lists Dublin Tombstone and Cemetery, my humblest apologies to those caught with a cross posting. Known as the Cabbage Garden - 1666-1878 Records for the church of Ireland Parish of St Nicholas Without from 1694-1875 are in the custody of RCB ( Representative Church Body Library) Braemore park Churchtown Dublin 14 (this body of people do not undertake research you must be there in body to do that yourself) The graveyard was surveyed for the Preservation of the Memorials on the Dead in Irealnd 1v:p240-246,401-404 A plot map dated 1923 is available for reference in Dublin Corporation Dublin and Irish Collection pearse Street Library This graveyard served the parish of Saint Nicholas Without ( outside the city walls) The Cabbage Garden is sometimes referred to as the Capuchin Garden and it si suggested that *Cabbage* is a corruption of *Capuchin* However theri are no records extant which indicate that the Capuchins were connected to this plot there is an interesting article in *Dublin Historical Record, X1V: page 80-84 Now this sort of data is available via the Irish Tombstone and Cemetery List.
Thanks Cara. Just wish I were closer to these records! Thank you Hal. What a shame. This is where my grgr-grandparents were married. I don't know if St Nicholas Without was their parish church or not. There is much more for me to learn. Does anyone know why it is "Without"?
