    3. Brian, Could you check the 1848 directory for my great great grandfather, Michael CANAVAN. Michael was a painter who worked in the Dublin area. He was 60, around 1869, so there`s a good possibility he could be recorded in the 1848 directory. Norman A.

    3. Hello List; I am trying to find information on my Great Grandmother and her ancestors. My Great Grandmother's name was Rachel Anderson. She was born 7 July 1883 in Cookstown County Tyrone, Ireland . She was the oldest of 7 children born to John Anderson and Mary McIlroy.The Children of this Union are : Rachel , Born 7 July 1883; Agnes , born 24 February 1885; Mary , born 29 November 1887; Thomas , born 29 December 1889 and died 25 December 1890 in Ireland; Ellen ( Known as Nellie ) , born 28 November 1891 and died 20 Feb 1897 in Ireland ; Lavinia, born 28 November 1893 and Margaret , born 10 July 1897. John Anderson was born about 10 April 1857 to Thomas Anderson and Rachel Donaldson. We are not sure when John Died but it is rumored that he ran off to Scotland leaving his wife and children in Ireland. Although this can not be confirmed as of yet. Mary McIlroy was born 25 December 1860 in Ballindrum Londonderry County ( County Derry ?) , Ireland and died 30 December 1938 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. John Anderson and Mary McIlroy were married on 3 September 1881.Mary McIlroy is the Daughter of John McIlroy and Margaret Anderson. Mary was one of 5 children ( Edward, born 1858; Mary, born 1860; Samuel born 1861;Thomas born 1867 and Lavinia , unsure of Birth year). John McIlroy was born in 1834 and died 4 march 1906 in Belfast, Ireland. Margaret Anderson was born 22 January 1832 and died 28 February 1920 also in Belfast. John McIlroy was the son of William McIlroy ( Born 1791 and died 1841) and Mary Simax ( Born abt 1812 and died 1837). Margaret Anderson was the Daughter of William Anderson ( Born 1798 and died bef 1853) and Mary Hamill Born 1800). Margaret was one of 5 children born to William and Mary ( Thomas, born 22 January 1824; George , Born 5 August 1828; Margaret born 22 January 1832; Elizabeth, born 11 January 1837 and Ellen born about 1839).
