Hi, there's a ? mark with Donegall on the census. I have seen countless mistakes, especially spelling errors by transcribers, so I wouldn't bet on them gettin it right. Also, it was easy back then to give wrong names+ages as ID wasn't needed. Her mother wouldn't have wanted the girls to be caught once she'd kidnapped them, so she probably fed them untruths+they may have lived out thier lives under that pretence. If you have an address in England, you might look at the surounding areas for burials just in case Charlotte died there. Let me know if you need any help from Dublin. I have their information. By the way, Frances Johnston the mother of Charlotte and Ada Emily was a cousin of George Bernard Shaw, Frances's mother was Charlotte Shaw, but I have this whole line. Charlotte and Ada where kidnapped by their mother as Adam had arranged before his death, that the girls were going to live with their paternal grandparents, William Stewart and Mary Emily Stewart, but Frances Stewart-nee Johnston got them back and fled to Holland with them and later arrived in London in 1858, the girls were 12 and 10 then One daughter Ada Emily Frances Stewart returned to Dublin, what happened to Charlotte no one knows I have been trough all the UK records and cant find her there either Hopeless case :) Annemarie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margaret Doyle" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, 25 April, 2011 9:35:37 PM Subject: [IRL-DUBLIN] Charlotte Stewart Hi, there's a Charlotte Stewart in the 1901 census living with her sister at house no.130 in Killiney. She's 58 yrs old but people sometimes didn't tell the truth about thier age. Ballybrack' is in the foothills of Killiney. Could this be her?
