Sorry forgot to say I tried searching for a death/burial notice to no avail BUT I am not very good at searching. Cheers from Valerie in sunny Sydney -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Valerie B Garton Sent: Sunday, 27 March 2011 2:27 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [IRL-DUBLIN-CITY] FW: [IRL-DUBLIN] Martha HUGHES - where was she buried in 1873-1874 Dublin, Dublin, Ireland ? Many thanks to all who are helping. Religion: Only child/son Patrick was married at St Luke's Church, Parish St Ann Shandon, Cork City, Cork in 1862 - his wife Mary Jane HIGGINSON's church. All children were brought up C/E in Australia. Patrick, son as above, was buried in Charleville, Queensland R/C Where did she live ? I have researched the Dublin Directories from 1852 to 1875 for Mrs HUGHES and in some cases found the names of the husbands by looking at the street address with the following summary of results: 1874 HUGHES Mrs 1 Longford terrace, Monkstown HUGHES Mrs Ellenea Villa, Harold's Cross HUGHES Mrs 1 Clapham Villas, Rathgar HUGHES Mrs 9 Carlisle Ave Donnybrook HUGHES Mrs 39 Waterloo road HUGHES Mrs 48 Leeson street, lower HUGHES Mrs 93 Haddington road HUGHES Mrs 169 North strand road 1875 HUGHES Mrs 1 Longford terrace, Monkstown HUGHES Mrs Ellenea Villa, Harold's Cross - Mrs Elizabeth HUGHES HUGHES Mrs 9 Carlisle Ave Donnybrook HUGHES Mrs 39 Waterloo road HUGHES Mrs 48 Leeson street, lower HUGHES Mrs 93 Haddington road - Mr Marcus W HUGHES HUGHES Mrs 169 North strand road - William HUGHES Esq Note the only Mrs HUGHES missing in 1875 was HUGHES Mrs 1 Clapham Villas, Rathgar. Mrs Hughes had lived here from 1870 till 1874. I know DD's are not accurate but this is all I have to go on. So it looks like we are looking for a burial in Rathgar area ?
