Guinness have recently launched a site which will be of particular interest to those of us with relatives who were employed by the Brewery as it allows you to search their archives for your people .. http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en/GenealogySearch.aspx. As well as name, it gives date of birth; date of death; employee no; date joined; age joined; date left; department; occupation; spouse name. It also shows photos and gives info on the department where the person worked. A veritable treasure trove of info! Well done, Guinness! Colette

    3. I managed to go to the Guinness archive a few years back and get the records for my Gt Grandfather Joseph Niland, his 2 sons, his brother and father. Most were in the cooperage department. Didn't manage to confirm the link between these Dublin Nilands and the Niland's in New South Wales (also descended from Guinness coopers) but still hoping for a breakthrough. Guinness has one of the most helpful archivists I've ever dealt with. Good to see that the records are moving online.
