    3. Hi Just spreading the word from another list. Note it won't be fully functional until 9th March. I know some people a few months ago (not sure which list, but think it was Dublin) were asking about EPPI - the Enhanced British Parliamentary Papers on Ireland 1800-1922, which as you will read are on this site. Colette I'm writing to you about a new, free, web resource we will be launching here at Queen's University this month, which may be of interest to your members. The resource is a searchable virtual library called 'DIPPAM: Documenting Ireland - Parliament, People and Migration', and it brings together into an accessible form and enhances three existing resources - EPPI - the Enhanced British Parliamentary Papers on Ireland 1800-1922; the IED - Irish Emigration Database, containing runs of emigrant letters, newspaper extracts and other emigration-related materials for the 18th-early 20th centuries; and VMR - Voices of Migration and Return - a collection of 90 interviews with 20th century Ulster migrants. This resource has been created by a collaboration between Queen's University Belfast, University of Ulster, the Centre for Migration Studies (Omagh) and Libraries NI, and funded by the AHRC, and can be accessed via the webpage http://www.dippam.ac.uk . The resource will be fully operational from about 9 March, and we have a number of regional workshops scheduled this month and a launch event at QUB on 21 March. I'd be very grateful if you could put this information in your newsletter and perhaps also on your webpage News section. I'm attaching a pdf flyer which it would be very helpful if you could circulate to your mailing list (if convenient). Please don't hesitate to email me if you'd like any further information on the project. Alfred was married to Annie - I have no idea where Alfred was born. I am taking a huge chance and hoping to find my five cent coin on the ocean floor. 3. Hi Karin I wish you well in your quest but suspect its more like trying to locate one particular drop of water in the Ocean than a five cent coin :-( But stranger things have been known to happen <g> Have you tried for a birth cert for Frederick Ernest ? that seems the most logical course Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Dear list, > > I am looking for a Alfred Smith who had three sons, named Frederick Ernest > born ca 1886, James/Jimmy and Albert/Bert. > Alfred was married to Annie - I have no idea where Alfred was born. > > I am taking a huge chance and hoping to find my five cent coin on the ocean > floor. > > Have a wonderful day, > > Karin Serfontein nee Smith
