Dear :Listers, >From my point of view as your Admin, I would love to go through the year without finding myself forever having to have people follow some necessary things, so lets begin as we mean to go on. 1- SUBJECT LINE Whether you receive digest or L Mode PLEASE change the subject to fit the body of your mail. 2-CUT FROM THE`MAIL- You are answering all the futile parts of the mail, they only take up the archive space. 3-If you are wishing to suggest a site and it is a paid site please say so, and add the URL with a note saying *paid site to view 4-Endeavour to keep the subject on the list, as this adds to other persons knowledge and aids and assist those that are new to Irish research and saves at times of having to repeat the same old same old. 5-The most important thing to remember is that emotions do not show in an email, and if you treat people as you wish to be treated then it will be a calm year all round. Have patience for all those newer people joining the list. 6-Do not discuss technical issues on list, or anything to do with administration, those things are resolved, by writing off line to myself or Rootsweb. 7-If you are using a generic email address, it would be wise to change your password frequently with the amount of people being hacked these days. 8-When people annoy you on the list by asking silly questions, remember we all asked them at one time or another 9-Utilise your list, ask questions, begin a topic and follow it through, and lets enjoy the hunt for those ellusive ancestors. 10-Having a problem then do not hesitate to contact me off list and discuss it with me, have a suggestion for me do that as well, ( but be polite) That is my suggestion for this coming year. All the best with your search and may that brick wall show some cracks, mine are full of cracks, they just dont get past the mortar. Cheers Cara I use BullGuard Spamfilter to keep my inbox clean.
