    1. Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] Back Brook, Dublin - MUST BE ROCK BROOK!

    3. Jennifer In 1901 Census Rockbrook is mentioned as the Sub District for the townland of Kilmashogue and there was an Ellen Rilley (nee Hughes) listed in this Census in this area. However her religion was stated to be Roman Catholic, but of course that does not rule her out as being connected through a marriage. The Church of Ireland Baptism records for Whitechurch commence in 1824 and there could be family baptisms in these records - perhaps those of siblings. These are held at the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. The other Parish Church could have been Rathfarnham but the early records for this church appear to have been lost in 1922 (would have to check that out for sure, but baptisms are only available from 1873 as per the list I hold) If you try Goggle Maps you will find Rockbrook o.k. and when you find it look to the "right" for Kilmashogue and Whitechurch. There is an old cemetery in Whitechurch and I am sure that the Headstone inscriptions would be found in Cantwell's books. Someone on the list may have the CD and take a look for you for your family name. Best wishes Joyce
