    1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Jeremiah PARKER and Esther KENNY and their family
    2. Denise Thompson
    3. Hello Listers, I am searching for descendants of the following family: Jeremiah PARKER, schoolmaster, born 1801, died 1848 at Finglas, Co Dublin. Esther KENNY, born 1800, died 1885 at Finglas, Co Dublin. Jeremiah and Esther married in 1822 and had ten children. They were Rebecca Caroline, Anne, John, Jeremiah, Grace Maria, Louisa Jane, Sarah Dorinda, Faulkner Brinsley, Harriet Sybella and George Philip. I am most interested in Grace Maria and Louisa Jane. Grace Maria, born 1831 married John THOMPSON in 1851 in Dublin. Louisa Jane, born 1833 married John's brother James THOMPSON in 1853 in Dublin. It is likely that some of their descendants live in the US. Regards from Denise Thompson Sydney, Australia

    1. [IRL-DUBLIN] CREIGHTON, WILLIAMS, ROBINSON
    2. Judy Geddes
    3. Listers Hi! I'm new to the list and looking for family in Dublin, Co. Dublin. My great grandparents were Irene (nee Reynolds) and David Creighton Williams. David was born abt 1849 in Dublin and he had a sister Jessie Creighton Williams, born Feb 1853 in Dublin, and a brother Willis F. Williams. David's father was Richard Williams. Given the naming tradition, is it possible that David's mother's maiden name was Creighton? David and Irene were married in 1878 in Bangor, Wales. They had seven children born in Dublin South from 1879 to 1890. Of the seven only Jessie Ida born 1884 remained in Ireland. Jessie married David Percy Robinson in 1906 and they had two sons, William b. 1907 and Richard b. 1911. William married in Dublin South in 1928. Jessie's siblings all emigrated and settled in Canada in Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. I'm trying to learn more about the Williams, Creighton and Robinson families in Dublin. Any connections or advice on next steps? Thanks! Cheers, Judy in Alberta

    1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Catholic Cemetery in Dublin (HAYDEN)
    2. Deb Wetlaufer
    3. I recently wrote about my "Edward Hayden" who immigrated to NY in the 1870's.... This week I thought I ask about Catholic cemeteries in Dublin.... I hope this might help me to obtain additional information about the Hayden family. Edward Hayden apparently had a sister Mary Hayden who died in 1882 in Dublin. I learned about her illness and death from a series of letters his father and a young boy Neddy wrote to Edward. It appear that Neddy was Edward and Mary's nephew, but I don't know who his parents were; this letter does make mention of his father being ill but recovering. These are two of the letters. In this letter Edward Hayden of Dublin/NY is also referred to as "Neddy" and "Ned": ........................................................ Rear of Belvidere Strand Road Sandymount County Dublin April 4th 1882 My Dear Neddy - I write to you these few lines and the last as I wrote to you in Mary ilness and no answer and so I write to you after her death. My poor aunt died of consumtion after 6 months ilness. My father lay for 4 (?) weeks in bed but now thank God is better. There was no one to ease her but me and my father. In South Co Dublin, in the Dublin hills, the townlands of Barnacullia, Ballyedmonduff, Glencullen and other nearby townlands were stonemasons' villages. Barnacullia in particular has a number of Doyle families. In the 1901 & 1911 census nearly every household had at least one member who was a stonecutter or stonemason. My late father in law, Joseph Doyle, himself a stonemason, came from one of these families. 3. Maureen, Thank you for your e-mail. I just haven't been able to get a lead on the parents, John Doyle and Catherine Dearing, of my grandfather, Lawrence William Doyle born in May 1840. All we have ever heard was Dublin. He came to the US with a brother in 1866 (according to US census). I can find no record of where he landed or on which ship he arrived. My grandfather and his brother, Joseph, were stone masons in the States. Joseph lived in Kansas and died there. My grandfather worked with the Santa Fe RR and moved around. Do you know of any records or how to get info from those other towns in the Co. of Dublin? Do you live in Ireland? I and some of my family went to Ireland several years ago. We went to a genealogist and he told us to try to trace them thru the Dearings, because it is a less common name. However; not knowing anything about Catherine nor her family, I have not had any luck. Thank you again for your info.
