    1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Marriage of JOHN HEAPY to CATHERINE MORAN Dublin 1842
    2. John Heapy
    3. Dear List, I am trying to find the marriage of JOHN HEAPY to CATHERINE MORAN. Which according to records found in Australia shows they married in Dublin in 1842, just before they emigrated to Australia. John was born in Staffordshire England in about 1822 and Catherine was born in Kildare also in 1822. It would seem John was a soldier (99th of Foot) as this was recorded on the birth certificate of their first born in Australia. Regards John Heapy

    3. Brian, Could you check the 1848 directory for my great great grandfather, Michael CANAVAN. Michael was a painter who worked in the Dublin area. He was 60, around 1869, so there`s a good possibility he could be recorded in the 1848 directory. Norman A.

    3. Jon, I just got the copies today. I am afraid there is no Wm. Burke in the directory. There was a Joseph and Walter who were clothiers. There was a Henry Bourke who was a Woollen Draper. But no Wm. Sorry. In order to get this Dublin Directory transcribed - I could use a good typist or two. I work full time and am balancing a several ongoing transcriptions for all of Ireland. So, if you are motivated and would like to aid us, drop me a line off list at chrisnina@gmail.com I think it is nice for people with an interest in the county to be able to help if at all possible. Christina Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlarchive/ Many thanks for telling us this Christina and your hard work. This may sound like a silly question but is Ba-Ca? next in your work? I'm asking because my 4xGGrandfather, WILLIAM BURKE was a tailor in Dublin in the early part of the 19th century, so it would be great for me if you have a record of him. Regards Jon Burke
