    3. Hi, Just learning and trying to help, you've probably already checked this... http://www.dublinheritage.ie if you put in MINCHIN, there are 5 returns for baptisms, unfortunately not your Catherine, but may give you an idea re which parish to try, there are no returns for marriages or burials but there is an earlier baptism entry 1760 who might be her relation. Lorraine Unfortunately this is one of the areas of time that a Parish will have to be located to find your Catherine as it will be parish registers you will need to locate. 1. Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] COX family in 1915
    2. Thanks Inga for your message. I do not know a great deal about my COX family in Ireland and your theory may indeed be correct although Frederick's grandparents did not marry until 1853 so I doubt if your Hugh b1848 is the brother of Frederick's father John b1864. In case you recognise any details, here is all I know. John COX - A Herbalist/Doctor and a Military Policeman during WWI. Possibly born in Cork, married Annie MC NEIL (Scottish) on 4th October 1853 at Banbridge, Ireland. Church unknown. John & Annie had two known children, John and Mary:- 1) John COX - A quarryman. b1864 in Glasgow, Scotland & died 1957 in Wales. John married Mary Ann MILAN or MYLAND on 6th February 1892 at Catholic Church, St Mary, Belfast. John & Mary had eight children but only their eldest child was born in Ireland:- a) Frederick COX. A solider. b1892c in Belfast. Frederick married Mary ? and had one daughter called Nancy. Frederick died in 1915 in Gallipoli. Last known address of his wife and daughter in 1915 was 6 Windmill Lane, Crumlin, Co Dublin. 2) Mary COX. b1865 in Magherafelt, County Londonderry. Mary married Michael Slattery in 1882 location unknown. Mary and John moved to Manchester and spent the remainder of their lives there. The reason for joining this list was to find any information on the descendants of Frederick COX i.e. Mary and Nancy. Does anybody know what happened to Nancy? Did she remain in Dublin (known to be living in Ireland in 1926)? Did she marry? However, if anyone has any of the above people in their tree, I would be delighted to hear from them. Regards. Paula - North Wales Hi Paula, I have a Hugh Cox, who was born in Co Cavan about 1848.. He was the 5th son of John Cox, Farmer, Co. Cavan. Hugh married Mary Quigly in Dublin in 1877 and they went to live in London. They had 3 sons killed in WW1, one of them was also Frederick. Perhaps your Frederick's father John and Hugh Cox were brothers? Not impossible, but possibly a long shot!! regards, Inga New Zealand

    3. Hi Cara, Information about Church of Ireland clergymen is pretty easy to track down via the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. They provided lots of information via mail in response to my enquiries. For more information, go to their website.... www.ireland.anglican.org/library/ The main source of useful genealogical information for me is described on the website as follows: "Apart from Church of Ireland archives, the RCB Library holds a number of collections with obvious attraction to genealogists. Among the more important are the biographical succession lists of Church of Ireland clergy, compiled by J B Leslie; collections of copy wills; extracts from the destroyed 1766 religious census; and collections of pedigrees." No guarantees but there may well be details about your multiple Rev. E. Beaty available from this source. 1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Fw: Peter Henry & Harriet (Gibson) Morton Family
    2. Jim White
    3. Hi List: I am researching the family of my great grand parents, Peter Henry & Harriet Morton. The marriage registration of their 2 sons say they were born in Dublin. There was no further definition, whether Dublin City, or Dublin County. Since they were all farmers, I would suspect Dublin County, possibly towards the Wicklow area. The info I have is as follows, for the family, prior to emigration to Ontario, cir 1847. They had many other children, in Ontario. Peter Henry Morton: Born Dublin c 1810 Father Harriet Gibson: Born Dublin c 1825 Mother John: Born Dublin c 1843 Son Henry James Born Dublin c 1845 Son The family is shown as C of E, C of I, for religion, in several Census reports. I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions as to how I may move forward with this family, and possibly obtain Baptisms for all 4, and the marriage registration for Peter Henry & Harriet. I appreciate the difficulty of the above request, without knowing the precise parish and townland. Is there such a thing as a Dublin Heritage Centre ? I was quite successful, in Sligo, obtaining the parish records for my White Ancestors, in Sligo, and Martins, in Monaghan. Your comments, guidance, and direction on the above request, would be deeply appreciated. Kindest Regards Jim White Naples, Florida
