    3. Hi Carol-Anne, I'm sorry I can't help you with your Dubliners - I have 3xgt grandparents who were born in Dublin around the same time as your two and who also emigrated to England and had babies there. Can you copy me in to any responses you get re possible indexes etc? Ireland does seem a tricky place to research from afar. Listers: While the 1861 Dublin Merchant Directory was very helpful and I believe I may have found a KEEGAN ancestor, I was wondering if directories exist that include all inhabitants of Dublin City? 3. Brian, Could you check the 1828 Dublin Directory for a company - Ross & Murray? They may be listed as plumber/founders. If there is one, can I have the address? Mahalo! 1. [IRL-DUBLIN] HALPIN - Dublin places
    2. The Websters
    3. Shaw's Dublin City Directory 1850 lists the following: Halpin, George, 33 LOWER DORSET STREET (civil engineer) Halpin, George Senior, LIGHTHOUSE, NORTH WALL. Could I please ask for local help with these 2 locations and, if possible and if they still survive, photos? Many thanks in anticipation Bill.

    3. Many thanks to Valerie and Shirley for their helpful advice. I found the films in FamilySearch. (By the way, they are under Ireland, Dublin, Dublin, rather than Ireland, Dublin!) There are about 30 films covering about 120 years. Some earlier films overlap. I have recently spent a fortune and strained eyes on FHL films so I may try Shirley's suggestion first. 3. Bill: Hopefully you will be pleased. Do not get anxious if it takes abt 6 weeks to get an answer. I had searched for years for a relative-he was unmarked in Mt. Jerome and on top of that he was buried in a pauper's grave. This was a new experience as I had we have never had a family member buried such. Mr. Massey also included the name of a son in law who signed for burial with name and address where they were living at the time. With this I was able to secure a marriage certificate for a daughter and was so very pleased. Mr. Massey answered all of my questions. Other researchers are always so helpful, too. 3. Bill, I have been using Google Earth when looking for places I am not familiar with. It is a great tool. Use any browser and type in Google Earth, the link will come up. You need to download the files to use but it is a fun way to learn about new places.
